A man and woman were arrested in Clinton for allegedly trafficking fentanyl. According to a probable cause affidavit, 47-year-old Kristi Dawn Smith of Clinton and 42-year-old Cody Pahdocony of Shawnee were taken into custody on September 6 for trafficking 2.9 grams of fentanyl.

The affidavit details that a Clinton Police Officer reported seeing a silver Hyundai traveling west on Route 66 near Golf Course Road with its passenger-side tires crossing the shoulder line. The officer received a National Crime Information Center alert indicating the car’s license plate had been reported stolen, prompting a traffic stop at Fourth Street and Frisco Avenue.

The officer identified Pahdocony as the driver and Smith as the passenger. A search of the vehicle’s center console by another officer reportedly uncovered a substance that was later tested and allegedly identified as fentanyl. Smith was arrested for possession of a controlled dangerous substance, though she claimed the drugs belonged to Pahdocony.

Smith was charged with trafficking illegal drugs. Pahdocony faces charges of trafficking illegal drugs, false impersonation, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, driving under the influence, and operating without a license.
