Deadly I-40 Collision In Wheeler County, Texas

The driver of an 18-wheeler is accused of causing a deadly, wrong way crash on I-40 in Wheeler County, Texas early Sunday morning.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the crash happened around 6:45 a.m., three miles east of Shamrock.

DPS officials said 35-year-old Mohamed Abdi, of Portland, Oregon crossed the center median and hit the driver side of a Toyota Tundra driven by 60-year-old Steven Little of Clovis, California.

DPS said Little was pronounced dead at the scene.

Abdi and his passenger, 35-year-old Mubashar Ibraahim, also of Portland, were transported to Shamrock General Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
