Election Day This Tuesday

The much anticipated midterms are tomorrow and polling places are expected to be busy.

Pollsters will be deciding on various statewide and nationwide elections that could set the tone for the next two years in regards to national leadership, and the presidency.

The upcoming midterms features many hotly contested races including those for governor and for superintendent of public instruction. Also on the ballot are both Oklahoma U.S. Senate seats and the race for lieutenant governor.

Current governor, Republican Kevin Stitt, will be facing off against Democratic challenger Joy Hofmeister, Libertarian challenger Natalie Bruno and Independent challenger Ervin Stone Yen.

For the office of lieutenant governor, incumbent Republican Matt Pinnell will face Libertarian Chris Powell and Democrat Melinda L. Alizadeh-Fard. For the office of attorney general, Libertarian Lynda Steele will oppose Republican Gentner Drummond.

For the office of the state treasurer, Republican Todd Russ, Democrat Charles De Coune and Libertarian Gregory J. Sadler will all be vying for the seat. Republican Ryan Walters will be running against Democrat Jena Nelson for the office of Superintendent of Public Instruction.

For the office of commissioner of labor, Republican Leslie Kathryn Osborn Democrat Jack Henderson and Libertarian Will Daugherty will face off for the seat.

For the U.S. Senate seat currently held by Republican James Lankford, Libertarian Kenneth Blevins, Democrat Madison Horn and Independent Michael Delaney will all be vying for the seat. For Sen. Jim Inhofe’s unexpired seat in the U.S. Senate, Republican Markwayne Mullin, Democrat Kendra Horn, Libertarian Robert Murphy, and Independent Ray Woods are running.

Also on the ballot is the race for Oklahoma United States District 3 Representative in which Republican Frank Lucas and Democrat Jeremiah Ross are running.

For sample ballots, voters are encouraged to visit the online Oklahoma Voter Portal at oklahoma.gov/elections.

Polls will be open tomorrow from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.
