After being down in collections last month, the City of Elk City has seen a boost in sales tax collections.
During her report to the City Commission recently, City Treasurer Jennifer Rainey said that the latest sales tax report for the city showed a 24% increase with the city collecting just over $1,099,000.
City Financial Adviser Russ Meacham said overall the city is up 25% in sales tax collection for the year, with just three more months to go in the fiscal year.
Rainey also reported that use tax was up 37% and cigarette tax was down 25%.
