An Erick couple has been arrested and booked into the Beckham County Detention Center on $5,000 bonds each after authorities say they consumed controlled dangerous substances while in a vehicle with an infant present.

According to a probable cause affidavit, the arrests occurred on the morning of August 14. A deputy from the Beckham County Sheriff’s Office responded after a Roger Mills County deputy conducted a traffic stop involving 31-year-old Ashley Marie Toney and 44-year-old Jeremy Lee Pair.

During the stop, law enforcement reportedly discovered a glass pipe and a silver container containing a crystal-like substance. Toney was taken into custody, and the Oklahoma Department of Human Services was alerted due to the presence of an infant in the vehicle.

The infant was transported to Great Plains Regional Medical Center, where medical tests reportedly confirmed the child had methamphetamine in their system.

Both Toney and Pair allegedly admitted to smoking methamphetamine inside their home, claiming they did so while the child was in a separate room.
