A deadly crash occurred on Sunday around 2:42 p.m. on the I-40 eastbound on ramp near Hinton in Caddo County.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, 24-year-old James C. Reeves of Mutual and his passenger, 20-year-old Nadia L. Storms also from Mutual, were traveling on the eastbound on ramp of I-40 when they accelerated and lost control, departing the roadway to the right.

The OHP report said that due to the slope and the vehicle’s tires tripping, the vehicle rolled numerous times before hitting some small trees and resting on the passenger side.

The passenger was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.

Both people were not wearing a seat belt.

They were transported to St. Anthony Hospital and the driver was treated with leg and internal injuries.

A separate accident occurred on Saturday in Washita County, injuring a Mountain View man. According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol 26-year-old Dakota Eason was admitted to an Oklahoma City hospital with head, trunk, and leg injuries after his pickup departed State Highway 115, striking a concrete bridge rail which caused the vehicle’s front passenger wheel to come off. Ultimately the vehicle overturned approximately two times before coming to a rest in the ditch. Eason was ejected during the rollovers. He was last listed in stable condition.
