Oklahoma City, OK — After 60 years of tradition, the Jim Norick Arena saw its final curtain call Friday night as the 2025 Oklahoma Youth Expo wrapped up with the iconic Sale of Champions.
This year’s sale featured 213 of the top market animals shown throughout the week and brought in an impressive $1.4 million, all going to the hardworking 4-H and FFA members from across the state.
Among the evening’s biggest headlines was Canute’s Sayde Allen, who owned both the Reserve Grand Champion Market Lamb and the Grand Champion Market Goat. OYE officials sold both of her animals together as one lot. The result: a winning bid of $25,000, thanks to support from McDonald’s, Bank of Western Oklahoma, Diamond Hats, Pfeiffer Farms, and the Oklahoma State Fair.
The Bronze Market Lamb was shown by Sayde’s little sister, Layne Allen of Canute 4-H, and her lamb was purchased by Boot Barn, Oklahoma Ford Dealers, and Bank of Western Oklahoma for $7,500.
The Allen sisters—Sayde and Layne—were a force all week. Sayde claimed the top goat spot Thursday night, and Layne earned the Bronze Medallion for the third-best goat in the show.
