A couple from Granite has been arrested and charged with receiving stolen property after being linked to a stolen vehicle reported earlier this month in Beckham County.

A probable cause affidavit shows that the arrest occurred on the evening of September 6 at an apartment complex in Elk City after authorities connected 21-year-old Faith Hannah Anderson and 37-year-old Rickie Outher Thornburg to a stolen truck.

According to the affidavit, a Beckham County Sheriff’s Deputy responded to a report of a stolen Chevy pickup on September 4. The vehicle was later spotted at the Eagle Flats Apartments in Elk City, where an Elk City Police Officer discovered the stolen truck.

The officer detained Thornburg and questioned him regarding the vehicle’s origins. Thornburg initially provided conflicting information but eventually stated he had purchased the truck about ten days prior from an individual named Bryan, though he claimed he could not remember the seller’s last name. Further investigation revealed Anderson and Thornburg’s involvement with the stolen vehicle.

Authorities learned from the victim that the truck had neither been sold nor loaned to anyone. Anderson and Thornburg were subsequently charged with possession of stolen property. Thornburg was also charged with obstructing an officer during the investigation.

Both suspects were transported to the Beckham County Detention Center for further processing.
