Inmate With Western Oklahoma Ties Captured

An Oklahoma inmate with western Oklahoma ties has been apprehended after walking away from a corrections center on January 16.

According to the Oklahoma Department of Corrections, 22-year-old Jesse Tointigh of Weatherford, walked away from the Clara Waters Community Corrections Center in Oklahoma City, has been taken into custody.

Tointigh is serving multiple, concurrent, 5-year sentences for false personation, burglary, felon carrying a firearm out of Custer County.

ODOC officials said the inmate was arrested by Oklahoma City Police Department officers shortly after midnight on Sunday. Police were called to hotel in northwest Oklahoma City after guests reported being harassed by two people standing outside of the building. Tointigh was taken into custody for the warrant issued after he walked away from custody and also for possession of 17.03 grams of methamphetamine. He was booked into the Oklahoma County Detention Center after his arrest, where he remains on the possession charge.

Once released from county jail, he will be returned to the custody of the Oklahoma Department of Corrections where he will face additional charges stemming from his walkaway.
