Elk City, OK – The new Ackley Park mini-golf course is on schedule for completion later this month.
The 18-hole course will include a 3-hole practice green
“The price will remain $3 per person to play, and children five and under play for free,” Elk City Sports Marketing & Promotions Director Marnie Tosh said.
The new course was built by Harris Miniature Golf, a Pennsylvania company that specializes in mini-golf courses.
Contractor WP Construction of Elk City is building the clubhouse, pavilion, and course fence.
Landscaping is provided locally by Cloud’s Quality Lawn Care.
The new course should be available for school field trips this spring.
“About 1,000 kids a week visit Ackley Park during school field-trip season,” said Tosh. “Some come from as far away as Frederick.”
All Ackley Park attractions will be open to the general public beginning on Memorial Day weekend.
Elk City’s previous mini-golf course opened in July 1958 and stood for 66 years.
New-course construction is paid for with revenue generated from CAPPS funds, the one-cent sales tax that Elk City voters approved continuing in 2019 for community projects.
