
Ellis County, OK – The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) is investigating a homicide in Arnett at the request of the Ellis County Sheriff’s Office.
According to a press release provided by the OSBI, just after 7:00 a.m. Tuesday, deputies responded to reports of gunfire and a structure fire at 60252 South County Road 200 in rural Ellis County. Upon arrival, they found the home fully engulfed in flames. Once the fire was extinguished, an adult male was discovered deceased inside. The victim has been transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for identification and to determine the cause and manner of death.
During the investigation, OSBI special agents identified 22-year-old Calum Carman as a person of interest. Based on evidence gathered, Carman was arrested and booked into the Ellis County Jail. Charges are pending with the Ellis County District Attorney’s Office as the investigation remains ongoing.
