OSBI Investigating Watonga Officers

Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigations is investigating the conduct of two Watonga police officers who have been accused of violating the rights of a man they detained.

In a statement issued over the weekend, Blaine County Sheriff Travis Daugherty called for the two officers to be placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation. This stems from an incident that happened on the morning of July 4 where bodycam footage shows the officers detaining the man in front of the man’s young son.

Daugherty did not make any further comments on the initial incident.
