Press Release

Elk City, Okla. – August 26, 2024 – The Elk City Rodeo Association is proud to announce a new main sponsor.

Barber-Dyson Ford is partnering with the rodeo as one of its sponsors.

The rodeo is something David Dyson, owner of Barber-Dyson Ford, has wanted to be a part of for years.

I was raised in Elk City, and the Rodeo of Champions is a really big part of Elk City. To have the opportunity to be a major sponsor is great. I think it’ll be good for both us and the rodeo.”

Dyson has attended the rodeo nearly every year of the last three decades and has had box seats, often having as many as three dozen friends and family in attendance.

The rodeo is a staple for a 75-mile radius,” he said. “People put it on their calendars.”

John Thomas, long-time Elk City Rodeo volunteer and the board secretary, said the board was pleased with the partnership.

Barber-Dyson Ford “is very community minded,” he said. “They’re involved in Elk City in a lot of different aspects, from schools to civic organizations and big things that go on in town.

This will be a good fit for the rodeo.”

Barber-Dyson Ford is celebrating its thirtieth anniversary; the rodeo will celebrate its 86th birthday this year.

This year’s rodeo is August 30-31-September 1, with shows starting at 8 pm nightly.

It will be held in Elk City at the Beutler Bros. Arena at Ackley Park.

Ticket prices for general admission are $11 in advance (for adults) and $12 at the gate. Children’s general admission seating is $9 in advance and $10 at the gate.

Grandstand seating is $15 in advance and $18 at the gate, with no discount for children; everyone must have a ticket.

Tickets are on sale online at ElkCityRodeo.com. They can also be purchased at Circle A Western Wear in Elk City, at the rodeo ticket office from August 26-30 (9 am to 6 pm), and at the gate, as supplies last.
