A Clinton man with a history of burglary charges has been charged in Custer County District Court after being accused of robbing a Clinton convenience store with a BB gun that looked like a handgun.

According to the probable cause affidavit, 41-year-old Jason Lemuel Jackson is accused of robbing the store on the morning of April 7.

The affidavit said that police investigating the case were able to use various surveillance footage from the store and other neighboring businesses to identify Jackson as being a suspect in the case.

After obtaining a search warrant, police searched Jackson’s residence and would find a BB gun, and a hand grenade wrapped in a t-shirt. The affidavit stated that with the help of the Oklahoma Highway Patrol bomb squad, it was determined that the apparent explosive devise was incapable of detonation.

Jackson was placed under arrest, and later charged with robbery with a weapon, after the felony conviction of two or more felonies.

Court records show that Jackson has been convicted twice in the past with second degree burglary.

Bond for Jackson was set at $100,000.
