According to the accident report provided by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol the accident occurred on Business I-40, 2 miles west of Elk City at 8:21 a.m. when, for an unknown reason, a 1999 Ford Mustang driven by 46-year-old Todd D. Gillespie of Elk City departed the road to the right and impacted an unoccupied 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee.
