Sayre, OK — A routine traffic stop in Sayre led to multiple felony charges for 31-year-old Bradley Hoyt Parker after an Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper discovered drugs and juveniles in the vehicle.
According to a probable cause affidavit, the trooper pulled over a maroon Chevrolet Tahoe on Poplar Avenue that was driving erratically and lacked proper brake lighting. Upon approaching the vehicle, the trooper noticed a strong odor of marijuana and observed a blue backpack in the driver’s possession.
Three juveniles were also inside the vehicle, including one in the front passenger seat who attempted to retrieve insurance documents. The driver, later identified as Parker, initially failed to produce a valid driver’s license, handing over an Oklahoma ID instead.
Parker eventually admitted there was marijuana and a meth pipe in the vehicle. A subsequent search uncovered raw marijuana, multiple containers of green leafy substances, drug paraphernalia, and methamphetamine inside the backpack. Officers also found a grinder with marijuana residue and meth in a pink container, which field-tested positive.
Due to the presence of children and the manner in which the marijuana was packaged—indicating distribution—Parker was arrested and transported to the Beckham County Jail.
Parker faces charges of Child Neglect, Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Drug with Intent to Distribute, Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Controlled Dangerous Substance (Methamphetamine), Driving Without a Valid Driver’s License.
His bond was set at $50,000.
