School Board Positions and Propositions On Western Oklahoma Ballots Tomorrow

Voters will return to the polls on Tuesday to decide multiple school board races in western Oklahoma.

Two school districts will have propositions on the ballots as well.

Starting with school board races, in Merritt Dwight Spitz will be facing off with Jason Kos for a position on the board. In Sayre, Russell Mariana will be challenged by Cinch Yake. In the Thomas-Fay-Custer Unified School District, Jared Baldwin will be running against Matt Miller. Cheyenne has Michael Boyett and Cailby Perez squaring off for a school board seat, and in the Carnegie School District, Brad Holsted faces off against Shannon T. Ware.

A major bond proposition vote will be on the ballot for voters in the Clinton School District.

If approved, the bond will allow the district to build a new middle school, outdated wings at Nance and Southwest Elementary schools will be replaced with new classrooms and Washington Elementary will be turned into a college and career technology center for high school students. Tornado safe rooms will also be added to the school sites.

Two bond propositions will be on the ballot for Burns Flat / Dill City voters tomorrow as well. If approved, one will address school improvement needs. The other will go towards new buses.

Polls will be open tomorrow from 7a.m. to 7p.m.
