Several Arrests Made in Connection with Weekend Burglaries

Several arrests were made over the weekend that were all connected to a string of burglaries in Beckham County.

Sheriff Derek Manning said the suspects targeted one home in the New Liberty area after learning that the residents were going to be out of state for an extended period of time.

Manning said its believed that the group took as much as $50,000 worth of property over a two to three day period.

He said the sheriff’s office has recovered roughly $20,000 worth of stolen property however he says the items might not be from the same home.

Manning said of the nine in custody one suspect was identified as being Michael Lynn Williamson, who was arrested Sunday night.

Manning said the case is still under investigation – which could lead to more arrests.

The Sheriff also noted that the joint investigation into the case included troopers from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Roger Mills and Washita County Sheriff’s Offices, the Erick Fire Department, Elk City Police Department and the Oklahoma Wildlife Department.
