Weatherford, OK – The Southwestern Oklahoma State University (SWOSU) Computer Club recently hosted its annual fundraising lock-in at the Pioneer Event Center, bringing together students, faculty, and staff for a night of gaming, collaboration, and community. The event, which drew 30 participants, served as a fundraiser to support the club’s future activities and programs. Attendees enjoyed a variety of gaming tournaments, casual play, and networking opportunities, with food provided during the event.

Throughout the night, students took part in a variety of gaming competitions, while others enjoyed casual gaming and the opportunity to connect over shared interests in technology and gaming. Faculty members also contributed to the event, preparing food for participants to enjoy. The event encouraged a strong sense of community within the club, bringing together students with similar passions in a relaxed environment.

The fundraiser brought in $240, which will help support club activities, including purchasing food for meetings and organizing future charity events such as the Extra Life Lock-In in the fall semester, which benefits the Children’s Miracle Network. The funds will also contribute to expanding club resources and ensuring more opportunities for student engagement throughout the year.

We’re thrilled with the turnout and the support we received,” said Dr. Hayden Harrington, Director of Esports. “This event not only helped us raise funds but also brought together students with a passion for technology and gaming. We’re looking forward to hosting this event every year.”

The SWOSU Computer Club continues to provide opportunities for students interested in technology, gaming, and computer science, offering events, networking opportunities, and hands-on experiences throughout the year.
