Local continuing students were recently awarded Southwestern Oklahoma State University-Sayre Foundation scholarships for the upcoming 2020-2021 academic year.
According to SWOSU, recipients include Jera Diltz of Elk City receiving the Paul & Dottie Flick Scholarship worth $5,000. Trinity Jordan from Elk City, Baily McCuistion from Rocky, and Alyssa Bonser and Jennie Easter both from Sayre all receiving the Bill W. and Beatrice F. Fuller Scholarship worth $5,000 each. Jacob Costello of Elk City receiving the Cecil and Gladys Lewis Scholarship worth $3,500, and John Peckham of Elk City receiving the Andy & Dora Farmer Scholarship worth $1,500.
The scholarships are awarded to continuing students based on grades, community involvement, work ethic and leadership qualities.
