Three people were arrested and charged recently in Beckham County after being caught allegedly attempting to remove the catalytic converter off of a stalled vehicle on Interstate 40.

According to Beckham County Sheriff Derek Manning, a Beckham County Deputy discovered the trio on the side of I-40 near mile marker 37.5 at 1:15a.m. June 7.

Court records would show that the three arrested were 38-year-old Abbie Danielle Benavides-Carter and 33-year-old Aren Castro Benavidez of Weatherford and 24-year-old Krystian Rain Fowler of Butler.

A probable cause affidavit said that during a search of the suspects and the vehicle illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia were also discovered.

All three face various drug related and burglary charges.

The owner of the suburban, a man from Edmond, would tell authorities that he had broken down on the interstate earlier in the day and intended on returning the next day to bring the vehicle and trailer home.
