A single vehicle accident near Lone Wolf has hospitalized a Hobart boy.

According to the collision report provided by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the accident occurred just after 10 a.m. Thursday on OK-44, 6 miles south of Lone Wolf when the driver of a 2009 Honda Accord partially departed the road to the right, over-corrected, and crossed both lanes of traffic before departing the road to the left.

OHP said the car continued off the road for an unknown distance before impacting a rock embankment causing the car to overturn a quarter time.

As a result, Troopers said a 5-year-old boy was admitted in fair condition into OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City with head and trunk internal injuries.

Troopers listed the cause of the collision as being “inattention”.

They also said seatbelts were not in use at the time of the mishap.
