With the help from the Beckham County Sheriff’s Office canine unit, a Clinton man who barricaded himself in a home was arrested on Halloween night.

According to court documents, 47-year-old Landon Garth Farmer was arrested after Clinton Police served the arrest warrant at the home located in the 1600 block of Deputy Drive. Police said while on patrol, they would notice a vehicle at the residence indicating to them that Farmer, who was wanted on multiple drug charges in Custer County, may be in the home.

After unsuccessfully attempting to make contact with the suspect using a PA system, other units were called to the scene along with assistance from the Custer County Sheriff’s Office, Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Clinton Fire Department, Sinor EMS, and the Beckham County Sheriff’s Office’s canine unit.

Beckham County Sheriff Derek Manning says fortunately the situation ended without incident and peacefully.

Farmer was booked into the Custer County Jail on charges of trafficking in illegal drugs, acquiring proceeds from drug activity, possession of a firearm after a felony conviction, knowingly receiving or concealing stolen property and maintaining a place for keeping and or selling controlled substances.
