Blair City Hall Fire Destroys City Equipment, Community Center Closed Due to Damage

Blair City Hall in Jackson County was engulfed in flames on Wednesday, destroying city equipment. According to reports, the fire broke out around 3:30 p.m. in the building, which houses City Hall, a community center, and two storage facilities.

Blair officials stated the fire began when a crew was using torches on the roof. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, but the fire completely destroyed the two storage units. Among the lost items were a city-owned police truck, a side-by-side UTV, and emergency repair equipment.

City Hall sustained smoke damage, while the community center is closed due to smoke and water damage.
