Blown Tire Causes Single Vehicle Wreck Near Elk City

An Arizona woman was hospitalized after wrecking her Jeep Wrangler near Elk City Thursday morning.

According to the collision report provided by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the accident occurred at 10:22 a.m. on Interstate 40, 2 miles west of Elk City when the 2007 Jeep Wrangler had a blowout, causing 39-year-old Angelica Garza of Rio Rico, Arizona to lose control of the vehicle. As a result the Jeep departed the road tot he left, entered the median and rolled a 1/4 time onto its side.

Troopers said Garza was transported to Great Plains Medical Center in Elk City where she was admitted in good condition with leg injuries.

The report said she was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
