Candidate Filing Begins For Municipal Offices in Roger Mills Co.

Candidates interested in filing for municipal office in two Roger Mills County municipalities will file Declarations of Candidacy beginning 8 a.m. Monday, February 6th.

Jana Maddux, Secretary of the Roger Mills County Election Board, said Declaration of Candidacy forms must be completed and submitted to the County Election Board no later than 5 p.m. Wednesday, February 8th when the filing period ends. Maddux reminds voters that Contests of Candidacy must be filed no later than Friday, February 10th and may only be filed by another candidate for that office, unless a candidate files unopposed.

Declarations of Candidacy will be accepted for the following offices:

Town of Hammon, Two Trustees with terms expiring 2027

Town of Hammon, One Trustee with term expiring 2025

Town of Cheyenne, Ward 1 One Trustee with term expiring 2027

Town of Cheyenne, Ward 3 One Trustee with term expiring 2027

Declaration of Candidacy forms can be downloaded from the State Election Board website at oklahoma.gov/elections or by contacting your County Election Board office at 1-833-638-7999 ex. 7 or rogermillscounty@elections.ok.gov.

The Roger Mills County Election Board is located at 503 E. Broadway, Cheyenne, Ok and is open from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
