42-year-old Anthony Reynolds of Clinton was arrested on Oct. 28 on charges of trafficking over 20 grams of methamphetamine and obstructing an officer.

According to a probable cause affidavit, an officer on patrol around 3 a.m. observed Reynolds lying by the roadside. The officer approached the individual, later identified as the suspect, using a spotlight. The suspect reportedly did not respond when asked to stand but eventually got up, appearing as if he might attempt to flee.

The officer noted signs of intoxication, including bloodshot eyes, instability, and an odor of alcohol. As the officer attempted to identify the suspect, he allegedly tried to walk away multiple times, at one point bumping into the officer. The officer then restrained the suspect, taking him to the ground and arresting him for public intoxication.

A search of the suspect revealed two bags containing a white, crystal-like substance. A field test conducted at the police department indicated the substance was methamphetamine, with one bag weighing 38.3 grams and the other 10.5 grams.
