Clinton Man Arrested for Vandalism and Aggravated Assault Following Series of Incidents

Clinton, OK — A Clinton man was arrested earlier this month after a string of incidents involving vandalism and assault.

According to a probable cause affidavit, Clinton Police responded to a report of vandalism on Gary Boulevard on September 11 at approximately 12:55 PM, where a black Chevy Silverado had its windshield shattered. The vehicle’s owner identified the suspect as 31-year-old Efren Bautista and stated he saw him fleeing the scene.

Shortly after, officers were dispatched to the Clinton Library following a report of an altercation between Bautista and another individual. Bautista allegedly followed the man and assaulted him, resulting in visible injuries. The victim told police Bautista attacked him after a confrontation near Frisco Avenue. Clinton Fire Department drone surveillance confirmed Bautista’s presence in the area.

Later that evening, at 5 PM, the same victim reported to police another assault by Bautista where this time he allegedly choked the victim, who fought back, leading to further injuries.

Bautista was arrested on charges of malicious property destruction and aggravated assault. His bond was set at $100,000, and he has been ordered to avoid contact with the victim.
