Custer City Man Charged Receives Child Porn Charges

Court records show that a Custer City man has been charged with, among other things, distribution of obscene material or child pornography after allegedly sending and receiving the material via social media.

A crime, if convicted, punishable by imprisonment of up to 10 years or a fine up to $10,000 or both.

Court documents show that 51-year-old Richard Lyle Coit Jr. received the felony charge on January 31 after he allegedly distributed and uploaded obscene material deemed to be child pornography to the social media platform known as “Kik”.

Coit was also charged with violation of Oklahoma statute via computer for allegedly retrieving data that contained the obscene material.

After being arrested, Coit was also found to be illegally in possession of two firearms due to a past felony conviction.

Coit’s next court date is scheduled for February 26.
