After receiving voter approval back in April, the early stages of renovating both the Elk City Fire and Police Departments has begun.
During the latest Elk City, City Commissioners Meeting, the city leaders approved two separate proposals to provide design services for the projects that will see both buildings receive much needed renovations that include expansion.
City Manager Tom Ivester says the formal approvals for the designs included the scope of the projects and fees that will go towards Rees Architecture.
Elk City voters voted in April to repurpose and extend an existing half-cent sales tax that will go towards funding the projects.
