An Enid man faces multiple charges after being arrested last month for child endangerment, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended driver’s license, possession of marijuana, and speeding.

According to a probable cause affidavit, 34-year-old Roy Lawrimore was taken into custody by Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers on October 20. Troopers observed a vehicle traveling westbound on Interstate 40 near the 75-mile marker, clocked at 83 miles per hour in a 70 mph zone, and failing to maintain a single lane. The troopers pulled the vehicle over, prompting Lawrimore, the driver, to exit.

The affidavit states that the trooper noticed a strong smell of burnt marijuana emanating from Lawrimore, whose eyes appeared red and watery. When asked how long it had been since he last smoked, Lawrimore allegedly replied, “45 minutes” before being stopped. OHP’s check of Lawrimore’s information revealed that his driver’s license was expired, leading to his immediate arrest.

A passenger in the front seat was identified as Lawrimore’s 10-year-old daughter. The girl’s mother, also from Enid, was contacted, and another authorized adult arrived to pick her up. A search of the vehicle reportedly uncovered remnants of smoked marijuana.

Court records indicate that Lawrimore has a prior arrest for driving under the influence from March 2019.

Lawrimore’s bond was set at $20,000, an
