A Weatherford man received a felony charge recently after leaving the scene of an accident that resulted in an injury.

According to the probable cause affidavit, 37-year-old Edward Lamont Parker received one felony count of leaving the scene of an accident involving injury in Custer County District Court on April 12, when while driving a 2009 Honda collided with and struck a car occupied by a woman, and then fled the scene.

As a result, the victim in the hit car suffered a large cut to her left elbow requiring stitches.

If convicted, the hit-and-run crime is punishable by imprisonment for up to 2 years, fines, or both.

Parker’s first court date is scheduled for May 3.

In other crime news, an Elk City man was charged with aggravated possession of child pornography after police discovered 140 inappropriate pictures and/or videos on the man’s phone.

The probable cause affidavit said that while investigating a separate crime, 20-year-old Jaquay Waylan Ivory willfully surrendered his phone to police in an effort of proving his innocence. When police did a forensic search of the phone, they discovered the illegal items.
