K9 Alerts Authorities to Fentanyl and Cocaine During Texas Traffic Stop

A man was arrested earlier this month in Shamrock, Texas after being discovered with fentanyl and cocaine.

Authorities said 33-year-old Braylen Watkins was placed under arrest on April 2 after being pulled over in Shamrock. During the traffic stop, a K9 unit alerted to the odor of narcotics coming from inside the car Watkins was driving.

During a probable cause search of the vehicle, a Wheeler County Sheriff’s Deputy discovered 17 pounds of fentanyl along with 7 pounds of cocaine.

Initial bond for Watkins totaled out at being $150,000.
