With spring storm season in full effect in western Oklahoma, one local sheriff’s office is staying sharp when they’re needed to accurately spot, track, and report when severe weather enters the area.

Beckham County Sheriff Derek Manning says Head of Dispatch, Captain Zachary Allen has trained to use OK First, a program tied in to the National Weather Service that provides real time radar data to her and the Sheriff’s Office.

Manning says Capt. Allen receives training with the program to remain certified every two years.
