Twelve Oklahoma legislators and a legislative staff member were recognized by the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education and the Council of Presidents of Public Colleges and Universities as recipients of the 2024 Distinguished Service Awards for Higher Education.

Two recipients are from Western Oklahoma.

The awards are presented in the following categories: Deferred Maintenance, Champions of Promise, and Trailblazers.

Five legislators received Distinguished Service Awards as Trailblazers for their diligence and innovation in advancing important legislation. Along with Senator Adam Pugh, Senator Kristen Thompson, and Representative Trey Caldwell, Representative Anthony Moore of Clinton and Representative Gerrid Kendrix of Altus each worked to advance bills that supported higher education initiatives.
