Oakwood Woman Dies in Thursday Accident

An Oakwood woman has died after being involved in a single vehicle accident in Dewey County on Thursday.

According to the accident report provided by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the mishap occurred just before 11:30a.m. on a county road 3 miles south of Oakwood when the 2005 Toyota driven by 74-year-old Yanina T. Mullins for an unknown reason departed the road to the right while traveling northbound, and rolled an unknown amount of times – partially ejecting the driver.

OHP said the vehicle would come to rest on its passenger side.

The report stated that Mullins was pronounced dead at the scene from head and trunk internal injuries by officials with the Watonga EMS.

OHP said the cause of the accident and the condition of the driver remain under investigation.
