ODOT Meets – Hands Out Honors

The Oklahoma Transportation Commission honored three Oklahoma Department of Transportation highway projects at its May 2 meeting that recently received first place awards for quality asphalt construction.

The projects in Blaine and Woodward counties were judged by the Oklahoma Asphalt Pavement Association and honored at the association’s recent annual awards ceremony.

Honored were ODOT District 5 Engineer Brent Almquist, OAPA Executive Director Larry Patrick, ODOT District 6 Engineer Ron McDaniel, Buffalo Residency Project Inspector Brad Mussman, District 5 Transportation Commissioner David Dyson, District 6 Transportation Commissioner Bobby Alexander, Transportation Commission Vice Chairman Bob Peterson and Secretary of Transportation Tim Gatz.

Also at the meeting Commissioners voted to award 35 contracts totaling $71 million to improve highways, roads and bridges in 33 counties that included projects in Beckham, Custer, Greer and Kiowa Counties.
