Oklahoma Gov. Calls For Special Session

5-24

January 17, 2024

As expected, Gov. Kevin Stitt has called for a special session before the regular session convenes.

The purpose of the special session is his effort to reduce personal income tax by .25 percent for Oklahoma citizens.

Speaking to Paragon Communications earlier this month, District 57 Representative Anthony Moore said lawmakers were made aware of the possible special session and says he feels like the issues can be addressed during the regular session next month.

The governor’s special session is scheduled to start Monday, January 29.

The 2nd Session of the 59th Legislature is scheduled to begin on February 5.
