Oklahoma Route 66 Museum to Host Open House for Clinton’s Festival of Lights Celebration

The Oklahoma Route 66 Museum will kick off the holiday season with an open house on Tuesday, December 3, from 1-4 p.m. This annual event will coincide with Clinton’s Festival of Lights.

Admission will be free to guests as a gift for all of the support the museum has received in the past year. Museum volunteers will serve refreshments to attendees. Guests are also encouraged to explore the museum and visit the “Discovering 66” exhibit, featuring photos by Rhys Martin, president of the Oklahoma Route 66 Association.

The Oklahoma Route 66 Museum will enter a decorated classic Chevrolet truck in the Festival of Lights parade, which starts at 6:30 p.m. on Main St. in Clinton.

The Oklahoma Route 66 Museum is located at 2229 W. Gary Blvd. in Clinton. It is open Tuesday-Saturday from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. from November 1-January 31. The museum will be closed from January 1-6. The Oklahoma Route 66 Museum is a division of the Oklahoma Historical Society. The mission of the Oklahoma Historical Society is to collect, preserve and share the history and culture of the state of Oklahoma and its people.
