Rodeo of Champions Returns to Elk City

The Elk City Rodeo of Champions returns tonight to Beutler Brothers Arena in Ackley Park.

As usual, the annual event is highlighted by pro cowboys and cowgirls in bronc riding, roping, wrestling, barrel racing and bull riding.

New this will be freestyle bullfighting says promoter Ruth Nicholas.

Theme nights include Dr. Pepper night tonight, where kids ages 12 and under get in free with a Dr. Pepper can, and “tough enough to wear pink” night on Sunday night where fans are encouraged to wear pink to show awareness of breast cancer.

Tickets are currently on sale at the rodeo ticket office at the arena and at Circle A Western Wear in Elk City. Tickets are also available at the gate the night of the rodeo.

The rodeo tonight, tomorrow and Sunday will start at 8 p.m.
