County Election Board offices in the area have announced that a Primary Election will be held for Board of Education Office No. 3 in the Hammon, and Canute School Districts on Tuesday, February 14. State law mandates a primary election be held if more than two candidates file for the same school board office.

Candidates vying for the Hammon seat are Robin D. Lamb, Aubrey Christian, and Randi Wynn. A three person race in Canute will see Steven Shuster, Brad Honke, and Josh Thompson have filed for the position.

According to election officials if one candidate receives more than 50% of the vote, that candidate will be named the elected official. If no one receives more than 50% of the vote, the top two candidates will vie for the position in the April 4 Board of Education General Election.

In Weatherford, Chris Gregston and Roger Watson will square off in the General Election.

Voters who are registered and reside at an address within the geographical boundaries of the school district they live in are eligible to vote in both the Board of Education Primary and Board of Education General Election.
