The Allied Health Sciences department at Southwestern Oklahoma State University (SWOSU) hosted the 2nd annual Anatomage Tournament at the SWOSU Esports Arena in the Wellness Center on Friday, Feb. 9. Following the success of the tournament’s first year at SWOSU, this event provided a platform for students to engage with cutting-edge 3D technology while putting their knowledge of anatomy to the test.

The Anatomage Tournament saw enthusiastic participation from teams eager to test their skills on the Anatomage Table, a 3D anatomy visualization and virtual dissection tool. Through the generous support of the SWOSU Foundation, the top two teams received sizable scholarships to support their education at SWOSU. The winning team, “This is Spinal Tap (Again)” from OK Bible Academy, was awarded $2,000 scholarships per student, while the second-place team, Enid High School’s “Anatomizers,” received $1,000 scholarships per student.

In addition, the top three teams were presented with Anatomage Tablets donated by the SWOSU Foundation. The tablets are equipped with advanced features such as touch-responsive controls, zoom and rotation functions, and interactive labeling of structures. These tablets provide a useful tool for students to deepen their understanding of anatomy.

The top three teams also earned the opportunity to compete in the National Anatomage Tournament at the University of Nevada in Las Vegas on June 1, 2024. This event will showcase their talents on a national stage.

Here are the results of the Anatomage Tournament:

1st place: OK Bible Academy—This is Spinal Tap (Again)

2nd place: Enid High School—Anatomizers

3rd place: Weatherford High School—Gluteus Maximus Returns

Allied Health Sciences and SWOSU congratulate all participants and extend their gratitude to the SWOSU Foundation, participating schools, and Anatomage for their support in making this event a success.
