SWOSU Crowns Mackynsie McKedy as Miss SWOSU 2024

Mackynsie McKedy from McLoud, majoring in Music Therapy at SWOSU, earned the title of Miss SWOSU 2024 at the recent Miss SWOSU Scholarship Pageant held on Saturday, Nov. 11.

McKedy’s community service initiative is “Melodies Making a Difference.” Her advocacy for music therapy will focus on schools, hospitals, and assisted living homes, representing both SWOSU and the local community. McKedy received a $2,500 scholarship to SWOSU and a $100 scholarship for her musical talent, singing “Orange Blossom Special” while playing the fiddle.

Macey Buss from Hydro earned the second runner-up position, earning a $1,100 scholarship and $50 in Chamber gift certificates for most tickets sold. The first runner-up, Hannah Jo White from Elk City, earned a $1,300 scholarship.

Kimmy Jones from Bristow received the Peer Respect & Leadership award, along with $50 in Chamber gift certificates. Hallie Calvin from Snyder earned the Crowd Pleaser award, and she was awarded $100 in Chamber gift certificates. Gabby Spieker from Sayre was awarded $50 in Chamber gift certificates for the most scholarship patrons sold.

All non-finalists of the Miss SWOSU Scholarship Pageant were awarded a $600 scholarship to SWOSU.
