SWOSU Press Release

Southwestern Oklahoma State University (SWOSU) is now accepting entries for the 2023 homecoming parade. The parade will take place on Saturday, Oct. 7 at 1:30 p.m. on Main Street in Weatherford. This year, the parade’s theme is “Paint the Town Blue.”

Parade entries are due by noon on Wednesday, Sept. 27.

All float entries will be eligible to compete for prize money. The first-place float will be awarded $1,500, second place will receive $1,000, and third place will receive $700. Floats will be judged by originality, design, and quality of construction, mechanics, and application of

the homecoming theme, all in comparison to other float entries.

If you are looking for a great way to show your Bulldog Pride and community spirit, join us for the SWOSU homecoming parade! We are anticipating a great parade that will be fun for the whole family. This year’s theme lends itself to creativity and we cannot wait to see all the entries,” said Dr. J. Boone Clemmons, Assistant Vice President of Public Relations and Marketing.
