An inaugural event for Southwestern Oklahoma State University (SWOSU) President Dr. Diana Lovell will be held this Friday, April 29, on the Weatherford campus, and the public is invited.

The investiture ceremony is set for 3 p.m. in the Fine Arts Center. Admission is free. For those unable to attend in person, the event will be livestreamed at this link: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=leNuv5FkGG0

SWOSU was founded in 1901 and has locations in Weatherford, Sayre and Yukon. Lovell is the 18th president of the university. She was born and raised in Weatherford within the shadow of SWOSU. Both her parents taught at SWOSU with her father serving as chair of the Biology Department and mother teaching in the Home Economics Department. Additional family members have deep connections to SWOSU.
