Traffic Stop Leads to Fentanyl Discovery

The Wheeler County Texas Sheriff’s Office announced that a traffic stop recently led to the discovery of suspected fentanyl.

According to the office’s Facebook page, on Monday (April 17) at approximately 2 a.m. a Wheeler County Deputy made a traffic stop in the county and during the stop the deputy gained probable cause to search the vehicle. During the search, deputies located 30 pounds of marijuana and also located approximately 3 pounds of suspected fentanyl.

Officials said one female was arrested and booked into the Wheeler County Jail for manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance PG1-B over 400 grams and possession of marijuana over 5 pounds but less than 50 pounds.

The name of the suspect was not released.
