Big Elk High School celebrated a monumental moment this morning as Senior Kash Mayfield signed his National Letter of Intent to join Oklahoma State University’s baseball team next season. Mayfield’s stellar performance over the past seasons has been an essential factor in the Big Elks’ consecutive State semifinal appearances during his sophomore and junior years.
When I sat down with Kash Mayfield following his signing with OSU, he shared his excitement: “Signing with OSU is a dream come true. I’m thrilled to join such an esteemed program.”
Reflecting on his journey, Mayfield acknowledged the influences that have shaped his career: “I’ve had incredible support and guidance from my coaches and family. They’ve been instrumental in helping me reach this milestone.”
Looking ahead to the spring season, Mayfield expressed his anticipation: “I’m excited to join the OSU team and compete at the collegiate level. There’s a lot to look forward to.”
As the Gatorade Player of the Year in Oklahoma last year, Mayfield’s pitching stats have been nothing short of extraordinary. Over the past two seasons, he’s delivered exceptional performances, facing 348 hitters, allowing only 11 earned runs on 29 hits, striking out an impressive 210 batters, and issuing just 38 walks in 92 1/3 innings.
Congratulations to Kash Mayfield on his commitment to the Oklahoma State Cowboys, marking an exciting chapter in his baseball career.
