Elk City Elkettes Remain Undefeated

The Skinny on Sports Report on 96.5FM KECO

The Elk City Elkettes continued their impressive start to the season, staying undefeated through their first six games. The Elkettes defeated 6A Yukon on the first day of the Elk City Festival with a 7-2 victory. Aubrie Pogue was stellar in the circle, pitching all five innings, allowing only two runs on four hits, and striking out seven without issuing any walks.

Elk City’s offense was on fire, accumulating 10 hits in just four innings. Lu Wyatt led the charge, going 3-3, while Jera Moler contributed with a bases-clearing double in the first inning to set the tone for the Elkettes.

Today, Elk City is facing two larger schools, Del City and El Reno, as they wrap up the festival. All the action is available to watch live on Big Elk TV.

Oklahoma State’s Innovative NIL Approach

Oklahoma State University (OSU) is taking a unique approach to support their players through NIL (Name, Image, Likeness) contributions. Late last week, OSU head football coach Mike Gundy emphasized that with the season approaching, his players were focused on football, not money.

Today, OSU announced the introduction of a QR code sticker on the back of their players’ helmets. This QR code will allow fans to contribute directly to the NIL collective for Oklahoma State. While details are still being clarified, this innovative method aims to provide financial support to the players during the season without distracting them from the game.
