High School Hoops: Canute vs. Arnett Doubleheader Recap
Last night’s thrilling doubleheader at Arnett High School marked the end of the Pre-Thanksgiving Break phase for the high school basketball season. Canute hit the road to face Arnett in an intense matchup featuring both girls’ and boys’ teams.
Girls’ Game: Arnett 56 – Canute 43
The Trojanettes from Canute, undefeated until last night, faced a tough challenge against Arnett. The game remained tight through three quarters, but Arnett made a decisive move in the final frame, outscoring Canute 19-10. Arnett had a balanced attack with four players reaching double figures, led by Landry Bayless with 14 points. Destiny Jackson shined for Canute with an impressive 17 points.
Boys’ Game: Canute 73 – Arnett 56
In a different turn of events, the boys’ game showcased a dominant performance by Canute. The Trojans took an early lead, leading 40-20 at halftime and securing a comfortable 73-56 victory over Arnett. Jaxon Beck led the Trojans’ offense with an outstanding 22-point performance, supported by three other players reaching double figures. Arnett’s Ryan Elder contributed 15 points in their effort.
