Leedey Baseball Headed to State Tournament
Leedey’s fall baseball team is headed to the State Tournament after clinching victories over #4 Boswell and #5 Asher. The Bison took down Boswell 6-0 and followed that up with a 6-3 win over Asher, securing their spot in next week’s tournament. Calumet and FCB also punched their tickets to the State Tournament, while other area teams like Canute and Sentinel faced tough losses.
Elkette Softball Advances to Regional Finals
Elk City’s Elkettes are on fire in the Class 4A regional tournament! With a 12-0 shutout win over Madill and a 2-0 victory over Bridge Creek, the Elkettes have secured a place in the regional finals. Aubrie Pogue dominated from the circle, collecting an incredible 30 strikeouts in the two games. Elk City will now battle it out for the regional championship with high hopes of moving on to the state tournament.
Oklahoma State Cowboys Need a Win
The Oklahoma State Cowboys are facing a must-win situation this weekend as they prepare to take on West Virginia at home. With two straight conference losses, the Cowboys are looking to bounce back and avoid landing at the bottom of the Big 12 standings. A win this Saturday could give OSU the momentum it needs heading into next week’s bye. The game kicks off at Boone Pickens Stadium at 3 PM.
Quade Cummins in Top 10 at Korn Ferry Tour Finals
Weatherford native Quade Cummins is off to a strong start at the Korn Ferry Tour Finals in Indiana. After shooting 1-under par yesterday and 2-under today, Cummins finds himself tied for 10th at 3-under heading into the weekend. His round today featured six birdies, a bogey, and a triple bogey. With two rounds left, Cummins is seven shots off the lead but just three behind second place.
